Some models can be difficult to remove or attach from the base. The Doona Combo, for example requires a two-step attach process and straps that slide over the infant carrier's bottom part. It's tempting to skip these steps, however this could result in dangerous results.
Some models are also more difficult to fold or store than others, which makes them less practical. The Graco FastAction 3-in-1 Car Seat Stroller, for instance, is hard to fold due to its huge dimensions and heavy frame. Some reviewers have also found the canopy on this model to be disappointing. The best combinations we've tested come with simple, one-handed fold that's compact and strong enough to be used for long walks. They're also easy to maneuver and glide effortlessly over uneven surfaces. We've seen a few combinations that can only be attached or removed using straps, which could feel like an extra step and make it harder for parents to ensure that the car seat is secured properly.

The Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 Combo and the Thule Urban Glide 2 have also scored well in our tests of ease-of-use. Both come with a single front wheel that's easy to push (one-handed! ) and a versatile swivel front wheel that's ideal for shopping or running errands. The only downside is that they're heavy and can be difficult to lift up when carrying a baby in car seats.
Easy to Assemble
Certain car seat and stroller combinations can be difficult to assemble. We found that the UPPAbaby Cruz v2 Combo was one of the most simple to build, and it even comes with a quick-start guide which makes putting this system together a breeze. Other models, including the UPPAbaby Minu and UPPAbaby Vista V2 Thule urban Glide 2 and Baby Trend Snap-N-Go EX Universal were also fairly simple to assemble. The BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 Combo however is a bit difficult to put together. It requires two steps: attaching the lower anchors and using straps that cover the bottom of the carrier. It's also heavy, so it takes two hands to secure the carrier into the base and then remove it from the base.
In our tests, it took us about 5 minutes to put the UPPAbaby Cruz v2 together. This is relatively rapid when you consider the time is saved by not having to take out all of the individual pieces. The majority of these models come with an easy method of attaching and removing the toddler seat, as well.
